You'd better be good

A dark cinema, popcorn, an attractive girlfriend in the neighbouring seat, some Hollywood movie on the big screen. But just before you start snogging you might want to read this:

Last month, AFACT [Australian Federation Against Copyright Theft] said movie studios were providing night vision scopes to cinema ushers across the country and training them in how to spot people illegally taping films using camcorders and even mobile phones.

The night vision anti-piracy measure has been implemented locally for the release of at least two films, The Dark Knight and Australia.

Let me get this right: the movie studios are giving cinema ushers equipment to perve on me and my girlfriend in the dark. Hmmm.
